Hampshire CAB Consortium Working Together

Citizens Advice Hampshire is a Consortium of 22 local Hampshire Citizens Advice Bureaux. We draw on the expertise of over 800 trained volunteer advisers across the county who give their time freely to offer problem solving advice, information and support to their local communities.
Our vision is to develop improved services to clients throughout Hampshire by closer working between individual Citizens Advice Bureaux. We want an organisation which can respond effectively to strategic challenges, while remaining responsive to the needs of the local communities where we deliver our services.
To achieve this we aim to provide, where appropriate, a single point of contact for stakeholders, so that new initiatives can be developed, and our work can co-ordinated more effectively. We place a high value on each local bureau’s service, but recognise that some work may be better focused in a wider, strategic way across the County.

Hampshire County Council has funded us to provide training and specialist services to Hampshire CABx for over 20 years, making this important support accessible to every bureau to deliver and develop our services to clients.
Since 2001 the 22 bureaux have been formalising how we work together.

|
To build on the valuable support of the County Council, we want to develop our structure to equip us to face the challenges of the future. We have been successful in a bid to the Big Lottery Fund “Awards for All”, as well as a grant from the national Citizens Advice fund, to take this work forward.
|

|
|
Part of this has helped fund the development of this website, and we will use this and other means to keep all stakeholders informed of progress.
